Peter Sivley was in the Revolutionary War and served at Valley Forge. The "Yellow Springs"mentioned on his war records indicated that he was at a hospital near Valley Forge. It is now known as Chester Springs in Pennsylvania.

Peter service in many different units most of the time there was a lot of yellow fever. By the all counts it seams the he had it as will as the other. It is thought that could have been what Joseph died of.

For more of Peter's service and if you like to join the Daugthers of the America Revolution War. Email me.

It is not know when Peter got married, but her name is RUTH(Her maiden could have been Canterberry??) It is know that they had two children.

Peter and Ruth move from Va. to Sevier Co. They came to Tn after 1783. Peter was mention Va. but later was not. RUTH SIVELY ( Peters wife and mother of Daniel and Absalom) got aland grant from the State of Tn. On waters of Flat Creek in Sevier Co. in 1810. So Peter must have died prior to 1800.( He was born ca.1762 calculated by first poll tax in Shen. Co. in 1783)In Sevier Co. Tn there was a Wm Canterberry who had a daughter name Rebecca. She married Absalom Sively. Some think Wm and Ruth(Peters wife) were brother and sister.

IN SEVIER COUNTY, TN. at Bird Crossroad is where the Germans settled and where Fox Cemetery is located. The 1830 census of Sevier Co. Tn., Shows Silas Sciveley alog with Jacob Derick and Jacob Bird as heads of household. Derrick and Bird were early settlers in the Fax Cemetery region. Silas may have been a brother and Absolsom and Daniel. Who were from upper East tn.; they settled in the Chattanooga region. A Silas Sevely m Nancy Martin in 1827 in Rhea Co. Tn. Absolom and Daniels mother Ruth Sively obtained a land grant 1810, 248 acres lying in the waters of Flat Creeks, adj lands of Greorge Denton and John Bell.( Ref. Tn. State libr. & Archives, Nashville, Toll No 56 Book1 page 130-132) mentions Daniel, Absolom and Ruth. Daniel had over 5,000 acres in the Mountain Creek region. By the way, Absolom donated the land for the Old Kings Point Cemetery. South end of Chickamauga Dam, there on TVA property. He is buried there ( as is Aboslom 2) The younger Aboslom and his brother Peter lived on opposite banks of the Chickamauga Creek there in the Kings Point region.
