January 2007 - An Exception a poem By George E. Kidney

January 2007 - "An Exception," a poem by George E. Kidney

I stood again in the old schoolhouse
My heart with sadness pent,
Hor here, within these sacred walls
Many happy hours I spent.

The seat is there where once I sat
The desk in just the same,
Upon whose top, O, thank the Lord,
I didn't carve my name.

George E. Kidney was the son of Nathan Kidney [John, James, Petrus, Robert Isaac, John/Jan] and Margaret Shutts.
