February 9, 1782, Lieutenant JOHN KIDNEY [Jacobus, John/Jan] appeared before Joost Beam, Justice of the Peace for Bergen County, and swore that sundry goods and wares taken from the enemy were taken lawfully, and said Joost Beam did adjudge the said wares, etc. to Lieutenant Kidney to be sold according to law and at a lawful price.
