Aged Miser Murdered
Robber Got Several Thousand Dollars, but Overlooked $1,800 in Gold
Syracuse, NY - March 12 - A dispatch from Port Byron says that the body of ROBERT KIDNEY, an aged miser, living about six miles from there in a cabin in the woods, was found late yesterday afternoon. He had been murdered and his home robbed.
The mirdered is thought to have secured several thousand dollars in gold, silver, and bills, but he overlooked $1,800 in gold and several hundred dollars in paper currency. There is no clue to the murderer.
