Mrs. William Thompson

Widow of Civil War Veteran Dies in Brooklyn at 99

Mrs. Charlotte A. Kidney Thompson, widow of William Thompson, a Civil War veteran, died Thursday in her home, 1112 East Second Street, Brooklyn, in her 100th year.

Born in Manhattan on April 5, 1846, she was the daughter of William Fitzallan Kidney and Mrs. Charlotte Chapman Kidney. Her father was a former contractor and about the middle of the last century laid the first pavement on Broadway from the Battery to Prince Street. Mrs Thompson was descended from John Kidney, who settled in Albany, NY, in 1700.

She leaves fours sons, Albert D., Warren, Arthur R., and Harry S. Thompson, and a daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Gardner.
