Drumachee is a rural post-office 4 miles to the south-east of Armagh, and 2.5 miles west by north from Markethill, its nearest railway
station. The land of the district is fair for oats, flax and potatoes. Dairying is carried on to some extent, the butter being sent to market chiefly in “bricks. “

Keady lies to the south, south-west of Armagh, at a distance of 6 miles, Irish. It is in the parish of the same name and in the Barony of Armagh.
The principal streets occupy the side of a hill which rises high enough at different points to afford commanding sites for churches and other buildings. In the valley, at the foot of the town, the river Callan winds along through meadows, plantations and bleach greens, forming a picture
of rural beauty rarely excelled. Towards the north and north-west the land is fair. To the
south, south-east, and south-west it is not good.
Oats, potatoes and flax are the chief crops of the
district. Dairying is carried on to some extent by
nearly all the farmers. The markets of Keady are
