Ada Kate Ransom (1890-1973) and Arthur Morton (????-1941) Ada Kate Ransom was born 24 July 1890 in Almira township, Benzie County, Michigan, daughter of Elijah Ransom and Edna Fillmore. She was named after Ada Kate Pratt, a friend of her mother who made Edna's hat for her wedding. She was married on 9 December 1925 to Arthur Morton. Arthur died on 9 August 1941. Ada lived the last few years of her life with her nephew and niece, Charles and Ruth Case Harris. Ada died on 13 June 1973 in Traverse City. Child i. illegitimate girl (given up for adoption). This child was fathered by one of the Ransom's hired men. This child was given up for adoption. |
