Baxter Genealogy

Baxter is a fairly common surname and Hon. J. P. Baxter in his writings in the early 1900s basically described three branches of the family which he thought were all related. However, his published data was bereft of any sources and seemed, at least to me, to be somewhat shaky. But he was a professional (President of the New England Historic Genealogical Society for 20 years) and I am an amateur, so who am I to judge.

As I gathered Baxter family data from various sources and entered it into my genealogy program (TMG), I found four groups in New England that I have been unable to connect. For convenience I have called these the Salem MA, the Cape Cod, the Connecticut, and the Westchester NY families or branches to the family tree.
