Bare tree icon   My General Information Page

I have created these WebPages for two purposes. First to provide a forum to exchange information with other researchers on the web and secondly to provide a way of passing the data I have on to my children and grandchildren.

I am a retired photoscientist, navy veteran and avid amateur genealogist who caught the "bug" from his mother, a DAR member, when she asked him to "translate" the hand writing of her Revolutionary War ancestor's pension file some 20 plus years ago. I am a member of the National Genealogical Society and the New England Historic Genealogical Society. In retirement my interests or hobbies are gardening, family, travel, and genealogy (not necessarily in that order!).

I married Elizabeth Fahey in 1953 and we are the parents of seven children, all college graduates and married. We have eleven grandchildren at the present time or at least when I wrote these pages!

When I started putting together these pages I felt it would only take me six or eight weeks. I knew just enough about HTML to have such unrealistic thoujghts! I'm now at six months into wrting and edting the code for these pages. If there are problems or errors, I ask you to bear with me while I continue learning the details of HTML programming. In fact, as I clean up the formatting, add to the content of the various pages, and update the genealogical data, you may want to periodically check back here. As this is my first attempt at a web page, any and all suggestions, criticisms, corrections and/or additions are most welcome. My web pages contain some graphics and I have begun a photo album page with a few pictures. At this time I have not included any sound files. Hopefully you will find just good basic family genealogy data.

The family history information contained in the following pages are compiled from many different sources (i.e. books, microfilm, family members, family papers, and other researchers) most of them non-primary. I believe the data is reasonably reliable and any known errors have been eliminated. Some of the information is family legend or hearsay and is yet to be proven. Use the information to help your own research and be very careful in how you use it.

My information here is made freely available for the benefit of the genealogical community. However I would appreciate you giving me credit as your source for whatever you may take and use. It's a small price to pay to reward me for my efforts over the years to collect and organize all this data in one place and to put it onto the Internet for any and all to use and enjoy.

I have included only limited source documentation to keep the file sizes manageable. If you find an ancestor or a potential one here, I would be happy and pleased to exchange information on the surnames and families posted here. I have additional information that can help to add flesh and body to these skeleton family details. The details and the sources I have consulted are available on request. I have tried to eliminate information on living individuals for security and privacy reasons.

I am grateful for the help of the many people with whom I have had contact via E-mail, US Mail, and personal contacts and who have provided much of the information compiled herein. They are too many to acknowledge individually but some who have been exceptionally helpful or a major source of information can be found on my Acknowledgements page. I have also listed there some of the programs etc. that I used in preparing my webpage.

I would be very interested in adding any photos, data, etc. to these pages giving full credit as to the source of the additions.

Please feel free to place a link to my webpage on yours. I would be glad to reciprocate upon request.
