1. John1 Cahill was born between 1833 and 1835 at County Sligo, Ireland. His death certificate states he was born in Ireland and died at 67 and thus he would have been born in 1835. He married Catherine McDonald, daughter of John McDonald and Mary Gainer, in 1868 at St. Basil's Church, Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He died on 27 Jun 1902 at Murray Mines, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. Consumption was listed as cause of death. He was buried at St. Basil's Cemetery, Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.

Generation Two

2. John Patrick2 Cahill (John1) was born in Jul 1869 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary McEvoy, daughter of Thomas McEvoy and Mary Brily, on 9 Apr 1891 at St. Adrian's Roman Catholic Church, Anita, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. The Rev. C. Wienker performed the ceremony and entered the bride's name as "McAvoy."

He died on 12 Jan 1940 at 106 Chestnut St., Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 70. He was buried on 15 Jan 1940 at St. Francis Cemetery, Mildred, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, after a funeral mass at St. Joseph's Church, Athens celebrated by Rev. Thomas P. Durkin, the pastor.

3. Michael L.2 Cahill (John1) was born in 1873 at Bernice, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Ellen White, daughter of John J. White and Catherine O'Reagan, in 1897. He died on 18 Aug 1938 at Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Epiphany Cemetery, Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, Gravestone dates are 1871-1938.

4. Ellen2 Cahill (John1) was born in Nov 1874 at Bernice, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. She married Thomas Fell in 1903. She died at Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania and went by the name of "Nell."

5. James2 Cahill (John1) was born on 25 May 1875 at Bernice, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Alice Gilmore, daughter of Peter Gilmore and Anna (--?--), on 28 Jan at St. Basil's Church, Dushore, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He died on 5 Feb 1964 at Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 88.

6. Thomas A.3 Cahill (John2, John1) was born on 31 Oct 1891 at Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary M. Shovlin, daughter of John Francis Shovlin and Margaret Garvin, circa 1914. He died on 6 Jun 1965 at Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 73.

Children of Thomas A.3 Cahill and Mary M. Shovlin, all baptized at St. Francis Church in Mildred, PA, were as follows:

Friesack is a small German town of about 2800 inhabitants located about 50 kilometers northwest of Berlin. After the war, his father had him buried at U.S. Military Cemetery, Anzio, Italy with his brother Thomas.

7. Catherine B.3 Cahill (John2, John1) was born on 16 Feb 1893 at Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. She married Henry C. Palmer, son of Elmer Palmer and Louise (--?--), on 16 Oct 1918. She died on 20 Jan 1958 at Elmira, Chemung County, New York, at age 64 and is buried at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Elmira, Chemung County, New York.

She always went by the name of 'Kate." At 16 when her mother died in childbirth, Kate stayed home and raised all her siblings. Her brother Francis said she was the only mother he knew and he always sent her Mother's Day cards.

8. Josephine3 Cahill (John2, John1) was born on 13 Aug 1898 at Bernice, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. She married Francis J. Murphy, son of Thomas J. Murphy and Mary C. Murphy. She died on 1 Oct 1969 at Waverly, Tioga County, New York, at age 71. She was buried at St. James Cemetery, Waverly, Tioga County, New York.

9. Regina M.3 Cahill (John2, John1) was born on 19 Feb 1900 at Bernice, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. She married Paul Henry Coveney, son of Dennis Coveney and Elizabeth Farr, on 6 Jun 1928 at St. Joseph's Church, Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. She died on 20 May 1967 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 67. She was buried on 23 May 1967 at St. James Cemetery, Waverly, Tioga County, New York. Rev. Edwin Coveney, pastor of St. Michael's Church, Warsaw, NY (a nephew) celebrated the requiem mass at St. Joseph's Church in Athens.

Children of Regina M.3 Cahill and Paul Henry Coveney all born at Litchfield Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, are as follows:

10. Charles Valentine3 Cahill (John2, John1) was born on 14 Feb 1904 at Mildred, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Edith Louise Campbell, daughter of Ford Walker Campbell and Bertha Maude Baxter, on 9 Aug 1930 at St. Joseph's Church, Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, under marriage license number 17542. He died on 14 Nov 1978 at Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 74. The cause of death was a Coronary Seizure lasting only an estimated "minutes." He was buried at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

11. Francis D.3 Cahill (John2, John1) was born on 22 Nov 1906 at Murraytown, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Bernetta Olene Lieb, daughter of Albert C. Lieb and Mary Bertha Marsh, on 13 Jun 1938 at St. Michael's Church, Loretto, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. He died on 20 Sep 1975 at home, Ebensburg, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, at age 68. He was buried on 23 Sep 1975 at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, following a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Ebensburg.

12. John William3 Cahill (Michael2, John1) was born on 9 Jun 1898 at Lopez, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Doris Mulligan, daughter of Frank Mulligan and Catherine Kinsley, circa 1923 at New York, New York County, New York. He married Lily Ridge, daughter of Hugh Ridge and Gertrude Foster, at New York, New York County, New York. There were no children born to William and Lily. He died on 18 Sep 1964 at Hazleton, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, at age 66. He was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Hazelton, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

He was always known as William J. and also went by the name of "Butch." Frank Fell called him "Red".

13. James F.3 Cahill (Michael2, John1) was born on 20 Jul 1900 at Murray, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Genevieve M. Ladden. He died on 7 Jul 1982 at Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 81. He was buried at St. James Cemetery, Waverly, Tioga County, New York.

14. Edward M.3 Cahill (Michael2, John1) was born on 5 Sep 1903 at Murraytown, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth Flood, daughter of Patrick Francis Flood and Gertrude Williams, in 1924. He died on 20 Mar 1988 at Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 after an extended illness. He was buried on 23 Mar 1988 at St. James Cemetery, Waverly, Tioga County, New York, following a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Epiphany, Sayre, PA.

15. Bernard3 Cahill (Michael2, John1) was born on 14 Oct 1907 at Murray, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Manganaro, daughter of Natale Manganaro and Biaggia Frena, on 24 May 1938. He died on 22 Jan 1980 at Washington, D.C., at age 72.

He was buried on 28 Jan 1984 at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, following a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Epiphany, Sayre, with Msgr. Thomas Jordan officiating.

He married for the second time Esther Gilliland on 27 Aug 1980. He died on 18 Apr 1993 at Englewood Hospital, Englewood, Sarasota County, Florida, at age 78. He was buried at Mound Cemetery, Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.
