MELANIE WELCH
Radio announcer Melanie Lynn Rice Welch, 20, died Tuesday,
April 6 in Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
Mrs. Welch was born March 21 1974 in Paintsville, the daughter
of Robert Rice of Lovely and Deborah Combs of Sitka.
She was employed by WKLW and was affiliated with the
First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Benjamin Welch, her parents ; infant
twin sons, Jordan and Joseph Welch; grandparents, George Combs
of Wittensville and Robert and Betty Davis Rice of Paintsville;
great grandparents, George W. Davis and Thelma Slone Boggus
of Paintsville; one brother, Clinton Hackney of Sitka; and two
sisters, Terra Ratliff of Sitka and
Alysha Rice of Virginia Beach, Va.
Funeral services were held Friday March 9 in Paintsville
Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. John Hobson, John Skaggs and
Eddie Young officiating.
Burial was in the Johnson County Memorial at Staffordsville.
Pallbearers were Alan Burton, Craig Reynolds, Gary Jennings,
Kenneth Lemaster, John David Smith, and Brad Frazier.
