Virgil Preston Dies Tuesday

Services Thursday For Former Resident

Virgil Preston, 50, Fairborn, Ohio, former resident of Meally,
died Tuesday morning December 20, 1955, in a local hospital
following an illness of nine days.

Born May 5, 1905, in Johnson County, he had been a member
of the United Baptist Church for twenty-one years.

He was an electrician for he Southwestern Cement Company,
Fairborn, Ohio, prior to his illness.

Surviving are his wife, Celia Ratliff Preston, his father,
Lafe Preston, his mother, Mrs. Denise Selvage, Prestonsburg,
two sons, Robert Preston and Homer Preston, both of this
city, one daughter Mrs. Bonnie Sue Colvin,
Fairborn, Ohio, and four grandchildren.

Also Surviving are three brothers, Tom and Luther Preston,
both of Meally, and Sam Preston, Fairborn, Ohio, and
six sisters, Mrs. George Muncy, Mrs. Earl Haney,
Mrs. Woodie Hart and Mrs. Virgil Childers, All of Fairborn,
Ohio and Mrs. Reggie Preston and Mrs. Russell Williams
both of Meally.

Funeral services will be held at the Meally United Baptist
Church at 10:30 Thursday morning.

Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery
under the directions of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
