Lois A. Vonada, 88, of Imperial, Pa., formerly of Madison-burg, passed from this life on Monday, July 23, 2012, at Ohio Valley General Hospital. Lois, a daughter of the late Nevin Miller and Fannie Shaffer Miller was born in Madisonburg on June 11, 1924. She was a graduate of the Miles Township High School. Lois was a former employee of Penn State University, working in housing. On March 17, 1943, Lois married Richard C. Vonada who preceded her in death. Lois is survived by two daughters Kay Wilson (Sam), of Imperial and Brenda Runkle (Edward), of Statesville, N.C.; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Gladys Smith; a brother Dean Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Madisonburg. She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren. She loved flowers, snapdragons being her favorite. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 9:00 am to 11 a.m. The funeral will follow with Rev. Mark Whitsel of Union Presbyterian Church officiating. Lois will laid to rest in Christ United Church of Christ Cemetery at Madisonburg.
