This appears to be a cement block with a thin coating on it in which the letters were cut. That is coming off and I had to be very very careful when chalking.

William A. McCully, son of A. A. and E McCully, died Mar 6, 1851 AE 2 Yrs. The picture below shows the hole it was dug out of. Not in cemetery listings.

This uncovered stone left an impression on the sod.
