Messer or Crook In The Road

This cemetery is along the east side of White Oak Road, (going north), just before 180th street.

It is located in section 17, Trenton Township. Go west 1/2 mile from White Oak Church and then North ca one mile.

 

Restored Messer or Crook in the Road Cemetery. I saw four stones and a pile of stone rubble.

Hiram Messer, born in Fayette Co. PA Jan 21 1810

Died In Henry Co. Iowa April 13, 1882.

Barbara Messer, wife of Hiram Messer born in Fayette County, PA Aug 8 1811

Died in Henry Co. Iowa Nov 13 1876.

In memory of, Henry Messer, son of M and A Messer

Died June 12 1875 aged 3 yrs 4mo 12 dys

 

Infant Messer, son of J T and S Messer Died Aug 3?, 1871 Aged 18? days

Geneva Fransis Messer, dau. of J T and S Messer died Dec 18? 1874

Aged 3? yrs 5?mo (The 1888 History of Henry County says she was born on July 8, 1871)

NOTE: I enlarged the stone in photoshop and still could not make out the dates with a ? for sure but put what I guessed the stone to have said.

{Were they twins? The 1982 History of Henry County says they were}
