INTERDENOMINATIONAL CEMETERY, STRAHACK, INCH, DONEGAL

The Fleming headstone, which is ornately carved granite, reads:

In Loving Memory of
FITZGERALD FLEMING
who died 27 [Mar? May?] 1892
aged 73 years
Also his wife JANE FLEMING
who died 30 November 1911
aged [97? 87?] years
And also their children
MARIA JANE,
SAMUEL JAMES,
JOHN JOSEPH
and
THOMAS
who died 4 July 1907
Also WILLIAM FITZGERALD
who died 14 May 1913
And MARGARET SELINA
who died 24 June 1922
aged 55 years

Beside this graveyard, which is located in the northeast quadrant of the island is a building which might be a mill. The cemetery is derelict and the word Strahack is on a slate plaque on the wall.

Further off the road and behind the cemetery is a farm building and a track into the pasture.

Graves are located on either side of the main road but at one time the cemetery was not divided. The road was placed over the old cemetery and some of the graves were evidently paved over at that time.

At the time of their visit, my correspondent was searching for Fleming stones but relates that there were "a number of CRAIG headstones and also some ANDERSONS".
