Frank and Elizabeth Fogarty Home Page
Frank Fogarty was born in 1861, and married Elizabeth Costello
around 1895 in Omaha,
Nebraska, where he had taken up residence as a postal worker. Together they
had the following six children:
Edward Fogarty b. 1898 d.1957 (of a brain tumor) Became an attorney and later Omaha city attorney and would help to author the Omaha city charter. Married Margaret Donohoe 1935, seven children.
Charles Fogarty b. 1901 d. 1972 Became a Doctor and lived most of his adult live in Leavenworth Kansas. Married Rena Sergel around 1940, three children.
Joseph Fogarty b. 1903 d. 1976 Also a postal employee in Omaha, member of the Omaha Urban League. Married Helen Pearson around 1926, three children.
Frank Fogarty b. 1905 d. 1983 Worked in communications as director of WOW-TV later WOWT in Omaha, Nebr. Extremely active in the community in various areas. He was responsible for both hiring and firing Johnny Carson when Carson worked briefly in Omaha television. Married Patricia, and they had four children
Hugh Fogarty b. 1907 d. 1995 Also worked in communications as Executive Editor of the Omaha World Herald. Authored the book from which a lot of this information came--"Do Butterflies Have Ears" (1993). Married Dorothy Cotter around 1929, six children.
Mary Fogarty Naught in b.1912 d. 1998 Teacher at a Junior High for many years. Married Thomas Naughtin around 1940, divorced, three children.
