Source: Blanche Rogers Letter Dated - May 28, 1987 - "Woodville Jefferson Rogers - Received a law degree from Cumberland Law College in Lebanon, Tennessee, Wilson County. In 1916 he practiced law in McKinney, Texas, Collin Co. In 1917 he entered Officer's Training Camp at Leon Springs just outside of San Antonio, Texas and was transferred to an Air Force base in New Jersey for training as an observer for overseas service in World War I. He was with the American Expeditionary Forces to France and was with the 50th Aero Squadron on the front line at Remicourt near the Argonne Forest.
After the war closed he was a State Senator for two years and help form the law firm of Spenser - Rogers in San Antonio, Texas." Received Silver Star for Meritorious Duty.
