The problem is the copying fee and the so-called research fee for each book. The Volgograd Archives charges $5 per book and $2 per page while the Saratov Archives charges $15 a book and $11 a page.

Though Hugh doubts that the Saratov Archives would agree to sell all of the records (years 1901 through 1919 birth/baptismal) as a group, if enough money could be raised to buy them all at once there might possibly be a financial savings of, perhaps, three thousand dollars.

Hugh’s interest in the Jeruslan area is post 1857 to the present day. His goal is to connect the original Jeruslan village setters with their descendants.
