This Deed made the 25 day of May 1878 between James Craddock of the County of Raleigh and State of West Virginia party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars, to him paid by the District Board of Education of the School District of Town of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does grant unto the Board of Education of said School District of Town, the party of the second part and their assigns forever, the following described parcel of land, commencing on a chestnut tree east to a maple tree thence north to a beech, thence west to white oak tree thence to a chestnut tree the beginning, together with all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging and the said party of the first part do hereby covenant with the party of the second part that he will warrant generally the title to the said property the said boundary contains the school house in sub district no. 7. Witness the following signature & seal.

This deed made this the fifth day of June 1882 between James Craddock and Luvisa Craddock his wife party of the first part and Isabel Craddoce the wife of Alexander Craddoce(sp) party of the second part all of the County of Raleigh and State of West Virginia. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and for the love and affection for the said Isabel Craddock the said party of the first part do hereby sell, grant and convey to the said party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the said County of Raleigh on the waters of Paint Creek and is bounded as follows: To wit; commencing in the road at the end of the path from the house, thence up the hill and with the middle of a ridge N. 21 E. 61 8/10 poles making a new line to a very small hickory on the divide between Boyds Branch and Simms Branch, thence with said divide N. 70 W. 28 poles to a chestnut oak thence down a ridge S. 47 W. 24 poles S. 76 W. 10 poles to a large rock N. 82 1/2 W. 10 poles to a black oak on a nole S. 64 1/2 W. 11 poles to three small hickories, thence leaving the ridge and running down and crossing the road and a small branch S. 5 E. 100 poles to a corner chestnut on a hillside above a bluff, thence down said little spring branch along a marked line S. 23 W. 26 Poles to a spruce pine on Sims Branch, thence and up said branch 44 Poles to a new corner seven Poles from a marked fork Maple, thence leaving said branch and making a new line N. 16 E. 89 Poles running on the E. side of the house to the beginning.-And it is hereby expressly understood the said 43 acres described above to be from this time a home and if desired a place of residence for the said Alexander Craddock as long as he may live and at his death and also the death of the said party (Isabel) the said land must go to the natural heirs of the body of said A. Craddock. The right and title to the said parcel of land is hereby generally warranted by the said party of the first part in this conveyance of said land to the party of the second part. Feazell, a Notary Public in and for the said County of Raleigh, do certify that James Craddock and Luvisa Craddock his wife whose names are signed to the foregoing writing or deed bearing date the 5th day of June, 1882 personally appeared before me in my said county and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed. And the said Luvisa Craddock wife of the said James Craddock being examined by me privily and apart from her husband having the said deed fully explained to her she the said Luvisa Craddock wife as aforesaid acknowledged that she had willingly executed the same and does not wish to retract it. Given under my hand this the 3rd day of June A.D. 1885.

Craddock and wife to Isabel Craddock duly acknowledged and certified was presented in my office and filed for record June 27th 1885 was together with the certificate of acknowledgment thereon this day thereto admitted.
