JOHN WESLEY MOYE
This is a picture of John Wesley Moye that I found in a book entitled "Mercer County History". He is the one standing up. The book states that John W. Moye married Julia Ann Ellison and volunteered for battle for his father-in-law, Isaac Ellison. He enlisted August 5, 1861, in Mercer County. He was First Lieutenant, in Co. B., 23rd Battalion, Virginia Infantry and a commissioned officer. John W. Moye is my great-great-greatgrandfather.
MINNIE MOYE JEWELL
This photo is of my great-grandmother, Minnie Moye Jewell, daughter of Newton and Barbara Moye. She married George Madison Jewell and had eight children. She is the mother of my grandfather, Johnie Newton Jewell. She died when my grandfather was about eight years old.
