MOORMAN & DIGGS BIBLE

 

Preface: The Diggs and Moorman families settled near present-day Lilesville and Morven in Anson County, North Carolina, and just across the Pee Dee River in Richmond Co. about 1750. Most of the people named in this Bible, or their descendants, moved away from NC before 1850, some moving to S.C., Tennessee, Mississippi and elsewhere.

Benjamin Moorman and Martha was married May 15, 1808.

Andrew Moorman and Rebecca Evret[1] was married February the 3, 1820.

Dudley Degge[2] and Lucy Moorman was married December the 10th 1807.

Willis Streater and Jane Moorman was married February 13, 1820.

James Bounds and Johannah[3] Diggs was married August the 30 1827.

Malici Paul and E. Abel was married November 25, 1820.

James Evret[4] and Judy Jernigan was married December 31, 1820.

John Warren and Nancy Everett were joined in matrimony the 20 Day of March 1825.

Thomas Everett and Jane Diggs were joined in matrimony the 25 Day of April, 1827.

Andrew Moorman and Elizabeth Bounds was married September the 27 1827.

Rebecah Everet[9] the daughter of Thomas Evret[10] and Agnes his wife was bornd October 25th 1790.

Jane Moorman the daughter of James Bounds and Elizabeth his wife was born June 26th 1759.

Agnes Moorman the daughter of Andrew Moorman and Rebeccah his wife was born December 4th [or 11th?] 1820.

Lucy Jane the daughter of Andrew Moorman and Rebeccah his wife was bornd August 28th 1822.

Harris Diggs was born October 25, 1800.

 

DEATHS

Agness Everett Departed the life

Agness Moorman Everett[11] the Consort of Thomas Everett departed this Life the 10 Day of Dec. 1820.

Rebecca Moorman the consort of Andrew Moorman departed this life the 10th Day of October, 1825. Aged 35 years.

John Diggs the son of Dudley Diggs and Lucy his wife was bornd May the 4, 1808.

Thomas Everett.

Jacob Johnson was bornd August the 5, 1810.

Andrew Moorman the son of Benjamin Moorman {_________} departed this life November 5, 1807.

John Diggs the son of Dudley and Lucy his wife departed this life October the 26th 1836.

James D. Moorman the son of Andrew and Elizabeth his wife was born August the 18 1828.

Charles Coats 1833 [or 1838] was bornd 1811 this {____} 1833

Andrew M. Diggs was born the 11 Day December 1815

Dudley Daniel Diggs was born the 22nd Day of May 1833.

Rebeca Diggs[12] was born the 12th June 1813

James D. Moorman was born August 28th 1828.

The Holy sun of {_}.M. Diggs James Riley Diggs was born Febury 29th 1843.

Per Ruth Dinkins, her "gut" feeling is that someone in the Moorman family wrote that in without knowing the facts and she was actually Agnes DIGGS!
