Clark
Washington- Edith Clark,90, of 301 Wagner St. passed away at 5:10 A.M.
Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Rosewood Care Center of East Peoria.
She was born on April 25, 1915, in Broughton, Il., to John & Rosina
Bowers Campbell. Edith married Robert L. "Windy" Clark on April 13,
1939, in Morganfield, Ky. He died on Feb. 20, 1998, in Peoria.
Survivors include one daughter; Deborah L. (and John) Brown of
Washington; several nieces and nephews; and a dear neighbor and
Caregiver as necessary, Robert Deaton.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chalen and Sheridan
Campbell; and three sisters, Mamie Littlefield, Lillie Gates and Nellie Baker.
Mrs. Clark retired from Bergner's in 1978, where she had worked in the
ware house as a ticket maker. Prior to Bergner's, she had worked for
Carson Pirie Scott for more than 20 years with the department store.
She was of the Protestant faith and was a former member of the Eastern
Star.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 P.M. at the Mason-White
Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dillon, the Rev. C.J.Campbell and the
Rev. Doug Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory
Gardens, south of Washington. Visitation will be at the funeral home
from noon Friday until services at 2 P.M.
Memorials may be made to either Calvary Mennonite Church or Northern
Tazewell Rescue Squad.
