Arthur Dawes, cashier of the Bank of Broughton, on Tuesday received a message informing him that his brother, Tom, had been killed at Crockett, Texas, and immediately left for that place to attend the funeral. No information was contained in the message as to the manner of his death.

RECEIVE LIFE SENTENCE
Arthur Dawes returned to his home at Broughton last Friday from Crockett, Texas, where he had been since the murder of his brother, Thomas Dawes, a former citizen of Broughton. The victim's slayers, J. F. and James Bell, were tried in the courts in that county and sentenced to life imprionment.
