Obituary

Nancy Emaline Hardesty was born July 28, 1840; departed this life May 22, 1927, aged 86 years, 9 months, 24 days.

She was the daughter of James and Sarah Lillian Gibson.

She was converted and joined the Christian church while young and lived a conistent Christian life until death.

She was married to Henry Sloan in about 1858. He died in a short time time and she was again married to James B. Hardesty in 1869. To this union was born one child James Gideon, who died in infancy. Her last companion preceeded her in death 18 years ago.

She was a mother to many orphans and always thought of the happiness of others before self.

She leaves to mourn their loss besides one step son, James Hardesty of Eldorado, one niece, Mrs. Minnie Porter of Broughton, and nephew John Gibson of Washington Park, Ill., and a host of relatives and friends.
