William Lee Bealmer

Obituary

William Lee son of John F. and Mary E. Bealmer was born Nov. 3, 1865, departed this life Nov. 3, 1918, at his home in Broughton, being 53 years of age at the time of death. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Townsend May 5, 1886, with whom he lived happily for 18 years, and on april 17, 1904 she departed this life. This union was blessed with seven children, one, Viola Ethel, died in infancy and James Francis died Jan. 11, 1918. Those who survive him are Joseph C., William C., Mary Virginia, Sarah Elizabeth and Catherine. Also Edward Lee and Charles Hoyt, by a second marriage. Everyone that knew Willie Bealmer knew him to be a man that was governed by the convictions which he thought to be right and was always very frank and plain in expressing his convictions in the defense of right. He was of a jovial nature with a jolly word for all he met. He was a good neighbor and devoted father, much credit and praise is due his children who have so faithfully and devoutedly stood by him during the years of his afflictions and death. He leaves to mourn their loss the children who have been mentioned, one half brother, Francis M. Sears of Quincy, one brother, T. J. Bealmer of Laplata, Mo., one sister, Mrs. Pearl Stewart of near Enfield, and many other relatives and friends. His suffering and affliction which was of duration, was borne with patience and he expressed his willingness to die.

Funeral services were held at the residence in Brougnton Nov. 6th, conducted by Rev. C. M. Prince and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Hopewell.
