Maude Tate, daughter of Braxtron and
Martha (Weggins) Tate, was born August 18, 1881 at
Galatia, and departed this life at her home in Broughton
Jan 1, 1947 at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 14
days. She was united in marriage to George B. Simmons of Broughton in October, 1904, and to this union six children were born, of whom four survive. They are Verba, at home, Mrs. Elsie Busenburg of Palestine Il, Glenn Simmons of Chicago, Mrs. Silvetta Parsons of Eldorado. Two sons, Sylvester and Cyrus preceded her in death. There were five grand children with three of them surviving her, together with five surviving sisters. Miss Zona Tate of Raleigh, Mrs. Zella Smothers of Thebes, IL., Mrs. Margie Pemberton of Eldorado, Mrs. Pearl Edwards of Eldorado, and Mrs. Hattie Gibson of Broughton, together with her devoted husband George B.
