Charles T. "Chuck" Melton, 65, 4410 Indiana Ave., Fort Wayne, Ind., died 11:59 p.m. July 6, 1992, at Covington Manor Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Melton was employed by Therma Gas Co. in Ossian, Ind., from 1960 to 1968. He was a dispatcher for NIPSCO from 1970 to 1990, when he retired.

He was born July 23, 1926, in Broughton, a son of H.E. and Lucile (Fairweather) Melton. He married June M. Shroyer, who survives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Klaeh, Fahl and Melton Chapel on Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.

Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Melton is survived by one daughter, Margaret Watrous of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sons, John T. Melton and Larry Melton both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three brothers, H.E. "Dutch" Melton and Harry "Cork" Melton, both of Eldorado, and William H. Melton of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Margaret Gholson of Raleigh and Annabelle Griswold of Odessa, Texas and three grandchildren.

Mr. Melton moved to Fort Wayne in 1970. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
