Martin Clyde Acord

Martin Clyde Acord, son of Martin and Polly Johnson Acord was born in Hamilton County, Illinois, March 28, 1891. He departed this life in ferrell Hospital, Eldorado, Illinois, Sept. 2, 1965 at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 4 days.

On August 14, 1920 he was united in marriage with Lottie Alley. To this union two children were born, namely: Mrs Elwanda Grace Kelley of Chicago and Clyde allen Acord of Beltsville, Md.

He was one of four children. A sister, Mrs. Esther Russell and a brother, Leswter Acord having preceded him in death; one sister, Mrs. Nina Wells of Memphis, Tennessee survives; also two grandchildren, Carolyn and Pamela Acord of Beltsville, Md., and a host of relative3s and friends who mourn his passing.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado. A member of the American Legion post in Eldorado and World War I Barracks in West Frankfort.

Funeral services and interment were at Hickory Hill cemetery, conducted by rogers Funeral Home on Sept. 5, 1965 at 3 p.m with Rev. O. R. Gregg officiating.
