Rites Held Saturday For Broughton Woman

Services for Elsie May Smiley 84, who died at a local nursing home last Friday, were held Saturday from the Broughton Methodist church with the Rev. Paul Bryant officiating.

Burial was made in Douglass cemetery. The Gholson funeral home was in charge.

Mrs. Smiley was a resident of Broughton.

She was born April 26, 1875, in Seymour, Ind., the daughter of Joe and Ann (Basley) Manion. Her husband preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Charles and Roy, both of Broughton and Allen of Brimfield, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Edith Grisham, Eldorado.
