Mary Dickerson

Mary Dickerson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oda Dudly, was born August 18, 1905 at Broughton, Illinois. she departed this life July 21, 1957 at her home in Dahlgren Illinois at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 3 days.

On November 10, 1923, at Broughton, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Matt Dickerson. To this union five children were born namely: Fay of Henderson, Ky., Charles Robert, U.S. Marines, of Paris Island, S. Carolina, and Joe at home; two children, Billy and Mildred preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and children; her mother, Mrs. Anna Dudley; three brothers, Earl of Pekin; John of New mexico and Joe of Decatur; two sisters, Elsie Mathis of Schoolcraft, Mich., and Grace Reeves of Broadwell, Illinois; nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a good neighbor and friend, always conscientious in her duties and in helping those about her, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Like a ship that's left its moorings,

And sails bravely out to sea.

So someone Dear has sailed away ,

In calm serenity.

But there's promise of a greater joy,

Than earth can have in store.

For God has planned a richer life,

Beyond the unseen shore.
