Ethel Gholson

East Alton --- Ethel Gholson, 80, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 1993, at home.

Born in Harrisburg Dec. 28, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Edick and Mary Jane (Tedford) Heard.

She married James Everett Gholson June 14, 1933, in McLeansboro. He died July 10, 1970.

Surviving are two sons, John Gholson of East Alton and James Gholson of Wood River; a daughter, Brenda Vinyard of East Alton; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Evelyn Bredewill, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m Sunday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Phil Warren will officiate.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Gholson Cemetery in Broughton.

Wood River Township Hospice or Bible Study Fellowship have been named as memorials.
