Dr. James Tomzen Gholson house

 

This house at the west end of Dawes Street believed to be the home of Dr. James Tomzen & Celeste L.(Dawes) Gholson.At the rear of house next to the alley was a small building that housed his horse and buggy. After his death Lou as she was called lived here and sewed clothing. She kept his book on Midwifery and delivered babies. Next door to this house lived Dr. J.G. Wheeler, Dr. Gholson's mentor and sponsor. Their son Floyd Gholson lived here until his death in 1962. The house was occupied for a time by Albert and Vina Mathis Dr.James T. Gholson
