Ovah Jane Jones

Ovah Jane Jones, 93, of Broughton, died at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999 at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.

She was born April 10, 1906, in Broughton to the late Edward and Hallie (Roberson) Harrawood.

She married George Henry "Casey" Jones. He died in 1960.

Mrs. Jones was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of the Broughton Methodist Church and also attended Broughton Baptist Church. she was a former member of Modern Woodmen Association.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. Steve (Jane) Wichar of Chloe, Mich., Mrs. Gilbert (Betty) Austin of Eldorado and Phyllis Price of Harrisburg; two daughters-in-law, Vi Jones of Madison Heights, Mich., and Jenny Jones of Dixon; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Benny, Bobby and Paul Jones, two grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Romayne Jones, and an infant daughter, Veta Ruth Jones, four sisters, and two grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday until service time. The Rev. Gerald "Andy" May will officiate. Burial will be in Gholson cemetery at Broughton.
