Caroline Schrieber, wife of John
Schrieber was killed when lightning struck the house just
as she arose from her chair to close the outside door.
She was born in Posey Co. Ind. July 17, 1856 and died at
her home Thurs, July 22, 1926 aged 70 y 5 d. She married
John Schrieber Nov. 5, 1874. 12 children born. Surviving
with husband are 8, 6 sons, 2 dau's. William, Joseph,
John, Charles, Fred, Neal, Mrs. Nannie Downen and Mrs.
Maggie Groeninger. Preceding her were Adam, Frankie,
George, and Alvin. She leaves 30 gc, 7 great gc, 2sis,
Mrs. Lena Gempler, Mrs. Hannah White. A member of the
