Obituary

John R. Gholson born May 14, 1859, in Hamilton county departed this life April 20, 1918 at his home.

He was married to Miss Roenia Davis Oct. 17, 1879. To this union was born four children namely Arthur, Charlie, Girtie and Randall all of whom survive him.

He was converted to the Christian faith about 17 years ago and united with Gholson Grove Baptist church in which he remained and lived faithful to his profession to the end.

Funeral was conducted by Eld. G. E. Slaven in Gholson Grove church then the body was laid to rest in the new cemetery at Hickory Hill April 22.
