Town Treasurer's Report Township Interest Received

(Of Whom Received & on What Account - To Whom Paid or Loaned & What Account) This book courtesy of Bob Barker

The following names are taken from a leather covered brown book 9 1/2 X 14" X 1 1/4" thick showing loans & interest payments begining in April 1860 through 1898. Starting recorder A. W. Gott Town Treasurer in Account with Town 6 South in Range 7 East Hamilton County, Illinois. Our thanks to Bob Barker of Broughton, IL. for this information which we hope is helpful and interesting to look back on. Starting out each person was assigned an account number that repeats or identifies their transactions. Possibly this identified who the money was owed to? Later, these account numbers were ommited. I typed names just as written in book, but many are mispelled by the recorder of records. I followed some misspelled with (sic) than corrected as I knew it. Some of these records are in beautiful penmanship. Transcribed by James Gholson starting in March 2003.
