Everett "Chuck" Parsons, 80 of 2061 Grandview Road, died at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Plunkert) Parsons to whom he would have been married 39 years Feb. 21, 1998.

Born Nov. 23, 1917 in Broughton, Ill., he was the son of the late William W. and Ella M. (Gross) Parsons.

He attended Calvary Bible Church, Hanover. He retired from the state of Illinois after many years of service as an addiction specialist and counselor. Upon moving to Hanover he worked part time at Spangler's Restaurant, Gettysburg, for 11 years.

Surviving also are three daughters, Rose M. Margenthaler of Parrish, Ala., Sherri L. Virtue of Abbottstown and Lisa L. Zartman of Spring Grove; four grandchildren: a brother, Wayne Parsons of Sharon Wis.; a sister, Ella Courtright of Kankakee, Ill., a half brother, William Parsons of Visalia, Calif. and two half sisters, Joy Daiton of Rockford, Ill., and Ruth Markum of Washington, Ill.

He was preceeded in death by a brother James Parsons.

The funeral service will be helld 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kenworthy Funeral Home Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Clair Shorb and the Rev. David Dayhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. David's Cemetery, Hanover, at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
