SHERIDAN LE MAY

Sheridan Le May, son of John F. and Anna Le May was born October 10, 1889 in Broughton Illinois and departed this life June 15, 1949 at the home of his niece Mrs. Rex Gholson, whom he raised from infancy. Age 59 years and 8 months.

He served 18 months overseas in World War I in the 3rd Division and part time in the Army of Occupation. After being discharged he came home and in October 19, 1920 married Miss Mary Etta Cuttrell of Shawneetown, Illinois.

He worked in shops at different places, but after coming home to Broughton he established a blacksmith shop on the ground where his father had kept a shop since 1870. He worked there until his health would not permit him to work any longer.

He is survived by his wife and his niece mentioned above and other niece and nephews, one brother James T. Le May of St. Louis, Mo. two sisters Mrs. Beatrice Delap of Foxboro, Mass; and Mrs. Lucy Rvark, of Memphis Tenn; and other relatives and friends mourn their loss.

Funeral services were conducted by the Broughton Baptist church June 17th by Rev, John B. Maulding, assisted by Rev. Le May a relative of the deceased and Floyd Gholson.
