The Rainbow and The Bible

On a trip to the St.Louis planetarium in the sixties, I saw something that caught my interest; it was the way they determined whether a star was moving toward the earth or away. As I recall, they took a sample of light from a star through a glass prism, which produces the seven colors on film. After some time, seven black lines appeared on the sample. At that time the speaker had no explanation for where the seven black lines came from, or why they had to wait for them to appear. He did state that if the lines were shifted toward the red end of the spectrum, the star was moving toward the earth. If the shift was to the violet end the star was moving away from the earth. Whether I understood him correctly, or not, is not important, It created a desire in me to know more about the light and the seven black lines.

So I prayed for a answer and months later, I was driving home from church rejoiceing and thanking God for everything, And like a deaf man, that suddenly hears, I experience a power of knowing what to do. A thought came to me to take my Bible and open it to the beginning Gen:1 and open one of my kids books on science. Arriving at home I rush to the science book and it opened to the subject of light. I open my Bible to Gen:1.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The little science book I saw that violet was the first color in light. This was the color of the robe they put on Christ before they crucified him. The violet robe meant royalty so it signified king of the Jews.

Violet light measures 700 angstroms. (Angstroms is units used to measure light waves) The number 7 is associated with God throughout the Bible. Violet has the high frequency of all the seven colors of light.

Gen:1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night ( The number 4 and 40 throuit the bible has to do with separation good and evil.)
