Obituary

Thomas Baker Richardson, son of Samuel W. and Mary Richardson was born December 7, 1843 in Hamilton County, Ohio. Died August 23, 1922 in East St. Louis, Illinois. Deceased went to White County, Illinois in 1855. He entered the Union Army in 1861, Co. B, 29th Illinois Infantry and served better than four years with honor.

He was married to Irene Marna Jamerson of White County in April 1862. To this union nine children were born; six of whom with his wife survive him. They are S. W. Richardson of Broughton; Lucy I Faries of East St. Louis; Lilly M Kelley of Eldorado; James M. of East St. Louis; William A. of Madison, Ill; Delbert W., of Broughton. From youth Mr. Richardson has been an active member of the Presbyterian Church. He was an elder in his church for fifty years. His life was consistent and he was faithful to the things for which his church stood.

Besides his wife and the above mentioned children he leaves thirty-seven grand children, two great grand children and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. E. Bennet; from the Presbyterian Church of Broughton, Thursday afternoon, August 24. The body was laid to rest in the Gholson cemetery near Broughton.
