Obituary

Obe Roberts, son of W. H. and Malinda Roberts, was born in 1856; departed this life August 16, 1928. Age, 72 years, 10 months and 16 days.

He grew to manhood and lived on the same farm for 45 years.

He was united in marriage with Eliza Dunn on May 2, 1881. To this union eleven children were born, five of whom preceded him in death. Those who survive are: Mrs. Maud Stokes of Ledford, ILL., Mrs. W. A. Peters of West Frankfort, Mrs. Hubert Brown of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Homer Pemberton of Broughton, Ralph of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and W. H. of Pontiac, Mich.

He professed faith in Christ in 1921 at Gholson Grove. he never united with any church, but believed in the Primitive Baptist doctrine.

He leaves to mourn their loss, a wife, six children, 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Gholson church Sunday, August 19, conducted by Rev. Marion Russell and Rev. Orvil Irvin. Interment was made at the Roberts graveyard.
