Obituary

Roxie Jane Grey, daughter of Robert and Rhoda Grey, was born Nov. 16, 1887; departed this life June 9, 1940, aged 53 years, 7 months and 24 days.

She professed faith in Christ at an early age, and united with the Hickory Hill Church, remaining a member there until death.

She was united in marriage to James T. Barker in March, 1908, who died Feb. 3, 1914. Three children were born to this union, one of whom, Harley, preceded her in death.

She was again united in marriage to charles I. Griswold on Jan. 20, 1916. Four children were born to this union.

Roxie was a kind and loving mother, a dutiful wife, always serving her family to the best of her ability,

She leaves to mourn their loss, six children, Arley and Tommy Barker of Broughton, Rhoda Smith of Carterville, Emma Rae, Robert Lyman and Charles Grey, all at home in Broughton; three stepchildren Rachel, Elsie and Emmett Griswold; one half brother, John Gray of Cobden, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Hickory Hill Church, conducted by Elder D. H. Knight.
