WILLIAM SPENCER PARSONS

I am researching William Spencer Parsons. He was born 1835 in Wilson Co. Tennessee and died 1 Jan 1866, Hamilton Co. IL., and is buried in Big Hill Cemetery. He was married 27 May 1858 - Caldwell County Ky., to Nancy Ann Jennings. Two sons were born - James Finis 1859 in Caldwell Co. Ky. and David Jennings Parsons born 1864 Hamilton Co. IL & who died age 3 months. They are also buried at Big Hill Cemetery.

William Spencer Parsons enlisted in the Civil War, 1861 and served as a Scout in Co K, Illinois Cavalry Volunteers. He was compensated for using his own horse and saddle. He was wounded 1863, Memphis Tennessee and was discharged from service.

At age 15, he was bound out to John W. Marshall, and his younger brother, James, age 10, was bound to William P. Alexander.

The Marshalls came to Southern Illinois and settled in Hamilton County, while the Alexanders settled in Saline County. The Wilson County Tennessee Minutes Books 1848 - 1862 lists the two boys only as orphan boys. Who were their parents?
