CHARLES HETZLER,
ACTIVE IN CHURCH
Charles Daniel Hetzler, 76, a resident of Clintonville for the
past two years and formerly of Emlenton RD 3, Rockland
Township, died
at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday in Franklin Regional Medical Center
following a
brief illness.
Born July 22, 1910, in Pittsville, Rockland Township, he was a
son of John L. and Jennie Blanche Schreffler Hetzler.
On June 25, 1949, he married the former Doris L. DeLong, who
survives.
Mr. Hetzler retired as a mechanic and equipment operator with
Emlenton Limestone Co. He had also worked for William Goetz
Coal Co.
in the Rockland area and served as Rockland Township roadmaster
for
many years.
A member of Union Presbyterian Church of Clintonville, he had
transferred there from the Nickleville Presbyterian Church,
where he
had been ordained an elder.
He attended Rockland Township public schools and had been a
member of Rockland Volunteer Fire Department.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a pilot and in his
younger years enjoyed flying.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs.
William
(Jennie L.) Brumbaugh of Oil City; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin
(Dorothy)
Schlicht, Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Polm and Freda Hetzler, all of
Oil
City; and two brothers, Joseph in Arizona and John Howard
Hetzler of
Kennerdell RD 1.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Friday in the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home of
Clintonville.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home,
with
the Rev. Jeff Wildrick, of Union Presbyterian Church,
officiating.
Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.

R. FELTENBERGER, 89, FORMER
OIL DRILLER, DIES
FRANKLIN - Raymond J. Feltenberger, 89, of RD 1, Kennerdell,
life-long resident of Rockland Township, died suddenly in his
home at
6 a.m. Saturday.
The son of John and Margaret Snyder Feltenberger, he was born
on
Aug. 14, 1874 in Butler County. Mr. Feltenberger had lived his
entire
life in the Rockland area. An oil well driller he had traveled
throughout the West and Southwest oil fields, drilling for some
of the
larger oil companies. In recent years he was a pumper for G.
D.
McEliphatric and the late Richard Hancox.
He attended the Rockland Methodist Church.
He was married to the former Bessie Pryer in 1904 and she died
April 29, 1958.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kerry E. (Alice) Marshall and a
son, Milton R. Feltenberger, both of Rockland; two
granddaughters,
Mrs. George E. (Frances) Himes, Van and Mrs. Ronald E.
(Barbara)
Miller, New Brighton; three great grandchildren, Ray, Ronald,
and Fay
Ann Himes, Van; and six brothers, Clinton J. Feltenberger and
Mert E.
Feltenberger, of Franklin; Delbert Feltenberger, Meadville;
David
Feltenberger, West Monterey; Richard Feltenberger, Kittanning;
and
Arthur Feltenberger, Franklin. Two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert
(Sabina)
DeLong and Mrs. Arthur (Emma) DeLong, preceded him in death.
The body was removed to the Huff Chapel where friends may call
at
any time.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel at 2 p.m.
Monday
by the Rev. Elroy Sayers, pastor of the Rockland Methodist
Church,
Interment will be made in the Rockland Cemetery.
The family has requested that friends please omit flowers.

KERRY E. MARSHALL
Kerry E. Marshall, 86, of Kennerdell RD 1, died at 11:50 a.m.
Thursday, Jan 26, 1995, in Grandview Health Care in Oil City.
Born Jan. 24, 1909, in Hawthorn, he was a son of the Rev. Ray
and
Blanche Shindledecker Marshall.
Mr. Marshall was employed by J&L Steel Corp. in Oil City for
many
years. At the time of his retirement in 1963, he was a
security
guard.
He was a member of the Rockland United Methodist Church.
Mr. Marshall also was a life member of the National Rifle
Association and was a former member of the Rockland Sportsman
Club.
He volunteered his time to help the Rockland Volunteer Fire
Department with the upkeep at the Rockland Cemetery.
Mr. Marshall was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed
traveling.
He was married June 26, 1931, to the former Alice M.
Feltenberger, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frances Himes, wife of
the
Rev. George Himes of Kennerdell RD 1, and Mrs. Lawrence
(Barbara)
Miller Leggiero of Beaver Falls RD 2; five grandchildren,
Ronald Himes
of Kennerdell, Mrs. Kevin (Fay) Billock of Brockport, William
E.
Miller of Beaver and Robert E. Miller and Beth Ann Miller, both
of
Beaver Falls; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marshall was preceded in death
by
a grandson, Raymond Himes, and three brothers. Benjamin
Marshall,
Francis Marshall and Emerson Marshall.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in
the
Huff Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral
home with the Rev. Joseph J. Kosareck, pastor of the Rockland
United
Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the
Rockland United Methodist Church, the Rockland Volunteer fire
Department or to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango
County.
