MRS. GERTRUDE
PRYER.
Mrs. Gertrude Pryer, who was born February 11, 1840, in Forest
county, died Tuesday morning at 1:45 o'clock at her home in
Rockland.
She was the widow of the late John Pryer, who died April 17,
1894.
The deceased lived in Rockland township for 54 years. The
children
surviving are Wallace Pryer, of Rockland,; Mrs. C. E.
Ferringer, of
Salina; Mrs. C. E. Herron, of Oakdale, and R. C. French, of
Middletown, O. Mrs. Pryer was the mother of the late Norman
Pryer,
who fell from a telegraph pole several months ago and sustained
injuries from which he died soon after in the Franklin
Hospital.
The funeral will take place at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon,
with
Rev. Galbreath, of the Rockland Methodist Episcopal church,
officiating. Interment will be in the Rockland cemetery at
Davis
Corners.

Kennerdell, Jan 21,
The funeral of Mrs. Pryor of Pine Hill, took place Monday
afternoon at the home of her son, Wallace Pryor with whom she
lived
since the death of her son the late Norman Pryor.

J. PRYER.
Mrs. Gertrude Jane Pryer, widow of John Pryer, who died in
1804,
died at 1:45 o'clock, Tuesday a. m., at the home of her son,
Wallace
Pryer, near Coal City, Rockland township, from chronic
bronchitis.
The deceased was 78 years old and was born in Forest county, on
Feb.
11, 1839. She had lived in Rockland township for 54 years.
The following children survive: Wallace, of Coal City; Mrs. C.
E.
Ferringer, of Salina; Mrs. C. D. Heron, of Oakdale; Mrs. R. C.
French,
of New Middlestown, O.

M. EUGENE EVANS
M. Eugene Evans, 80, a resident of the Alliance Home in
Carlisle,
formerly of Franklin, died late Tuesday afternoon, Jan 17,
1995, in
the Alliance Home following a lengthy illness.
He also was a former resident of Williamsburg and Chambersburg.
Born Jan. 26, 1914, in Woodbury Township, Williamsburg RD, he
was
a son of Elwood and Cora Chamberlain Evans.
Mr. Evans was a 1932 graduate of Williamsburg High School.
He formerly was employed at General Manifold in Franklin. He
retired in 1980 as a foreman for the Carbon Division of Arnold
Graphics in Chambersburg.
Mr. Evans was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance
Church in Franklin and attended the Christian and Missionary
Alliance
Church In Mount Union, Huntingdon County.
He first was married to Geraldine A. Snyder, who preceded him
in
death. He then was married June 12, 1974, in Clearfield to
Hertha B.
Feltenberger, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Patricia E. Evans of Franklin
and Beverly A. Petke of Chambersburg; and two grandchildren,
Amy and
Alan Petke.
He also is survived by two sisters, Gladys B. Berkheimer of
Williamsburg and Sarah M. Illig of Dravosburg.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Mr. Evans was
preceded
in death by two brothers, Harvey Evans and Walter Evans.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Bolger-Friedline
Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the
funeral
home with Pastor Dane A. White of the Clearfield Alliance
Church and
Pastor William B. Wollett of the Mount Union Alliance Church,
officiating.
Interment will be in the Royer Cemetery at Williamsburg RD.

C. FELTENBERGER, 51, IN CRITICAL
CONDITION HERE
Chester W. Feltenberger, 51, of 1406 Arch Street, Pittsburgh,
formerly of Franklin, is in critical condition in Franklin
Hospital,
after being stricken ill yesterday morning.
Mr. Feltenberger was driving a load of steel yesterday when he
became ill. He pulled into a service station near Centerville
and was
there when the owner opened for business about 8 a.m.
He was able to ask for gasoline and paid the attendant, when he
became incoherent and started to go into convulsions. He was
taken to
Union City Hospital and rallied enough to ask that he be
brought to
Franklin. He was removed here by ambulance, arriving about
noon
Wednesday.
Since that time he has been in a coma, X-rays were taken and
the
doctor stated that a tumor which had been in the lung has
spread to
the brain.
Mr. Feltenberger is a son of J. C. Feltenberger, of 441 Elk
Street. His wife, Shirley, arrived from Pittsburgh yesterday.

C. FELTENBERGER STRICKEN WHILE
OPERATING TRUCK.
Chester W. Feltenberger, 51 of 1406 Arch Street, Pittsburgh,
former Rockland and Franklin resident, who was stricken ill
while
driving a load of steel on Wednesday, died at 10:15 p.m.
Thursday in
the Franklin Hospital.
He was stricken ill while driving near Centerville and pulled
into a service station. After getting gasoline, he became
incoherent
and went into convulsions. He was taken to the Union City
Hospital.
He rallied and asked to be removed to the hospital in Franklin.
He
was brought to the Franklin Hospital shortly after noon on
Wednesday
by ambulance.
The son of John C. Feltenberger, and the late Ruth Pryer
Feltenberger, he was born at Rockland on Jan. 25, 1912.
Mr. Feltenberger had spent his early life in this area and had
been a resident of Pittsburgh for the past 24 years.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 249 at
Pittsburgh.
Surviving along with his wife, the former Shirley E. Simpson,
whom he married July 8, 1952, are his father, John C.
Feltenberger,
Franklin; two brothers and two sisters, Dennis V. Feltenberger,
North
East; Hertha B. Feltenberger, Franklin; Mrs. L. J. (Hester)
Larsen,
Franklin; and C. Smith Feltenberger, Erie.
The body was removed to the Huff Chapel where friends may call
at
any time after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel at 2 p.m.
Sunday with the Rev. Robert Morrison, pastor of the Pine Hill
Church
of God, officiating. Interment will be made in Sunset Hill
Memorial
Gardens.

CHESTER W.
FELTENBERGER
Funeral services in memory of Chester W. Feltenberger, of 1406
Arch Street, Pittsburgh, former area resident who was stricken
near
Centerville while driving a loaded steel truck on Wednesday and
then
taken to the Franklin Hospital where he died on Thursday
evening, were
conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Huff Chapel by the Rev.
Robert H.
Morrison, pastor of the Pine Hill Church of God.
During the services, the Rev. Morrison read the poems, "Should
You Go First," and "Crossing The Bar."
Interment was made in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens and the
following were pallbearers: Dennis C. Feltenberger, Ronald S.
Feltenberger, D.W. Feltenberger, Donald M. Simpson, G. Kimble
Six and
William A. DeLong.
Among those attending the services from a distance were: Mr.
and
Mrs. Dennis V. Feltenberger, Dennis C. Feltenberger, and Ruth
Ann
Feltenberger, North East; Mr. and Mrs. C. Smith Feltenberger,
Ronald
S. Feltenberger, W. Feltenberger and Karen Gromberg, Erie; Mr.
and
Mrs. Kimble Six, Hundred, W. Va.; William Dunbar, Mr. and Mrs.
