DeLong
Guy E. DeLong, 67, Emlenton, died at 4:15 p.m. yesterday in
Franklin Hospital, which he had entered on Christmas Day.
A former resident of Eau Claire, Mr. DeLong retired in 1947
after
serving the Pennsylvania Railroad for more than 30 years. He
had
spent the greater part of his life in Rockland Township,
Venango
County and was a member of Pine Hill Church of God there.
Born May 29, 1888 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late
William and Jennie Hart DeLong.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Donald E. Nelson and Mrs.
Charles D. Hetzel, both of Kennerdell, Mrs. John T. Altmire,
Eau
Claire, and Mrs. K. Wesley Wise, Olean, N.Y.; three sons,
William A.,
Emlenton, Wallace P., Franklin, and Norman L. DeLong, Beaver
Falls; a
brother, Earl E. DeLong, Kennerdell; four sisters Mrs. Verne L.
Snyder, Cooperstown, and Mrs. Laura Wesco, Mrs. David Scannell
and
Mrs. Millard Shaffer, all of Franklin; 21 grandchildren; and
two
great-grandchildren.
Friends are being received at the Barron Chapel, 312 W. Park
St.
Franklin, where prayer services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Pine Hill
Church of
God, Rockland Township, Venango County, with the Rev. William
D.
Rodahaver, pastor of Congress Hill Church of God, Franklin,
officiating.
Burial will be made in the Melat Cemetery, Rockland Township.

Guy E. DeLong

Eau Claire

Died Wednesday forenoon in her home. Survived by husband and
seven children: Mrs. Harriet Nelson, Mrs. Jessie Altmire,
Mrs. Doris
Hetzler, William, Wallace, Norman and Mildred DeLong. Body
removed
from Barron chapel to family home where prayer services will be
held
at 1 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services, 2:30 p.m. Friday, Pine Hill Church of God.
Burial
to be in Melat cemetery.


Mrs.
Guy E. DeLong

Mrs Mildred DeLong, 61, wife of Guy E. DeLong of Eau Claire,
died
at her home there Wednesday forenoon. Mrs. DeLong had been in
ill
health for quite sometime.
She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Harriet Smith
Pryer
and was born in Rockland, June 28, 1888. She lived in Rockland
practically her entire life, and had moved to Eau Claire only
two
years ago.
She was a member of the Pine Hill Church of God and was always
interested in the various activities until ill health
prevented.
She is survived by her husband, Guy E. Delong; seven sons and
daughters, Mrs. Harriet Nelson, Rockland; Mrs. Jessie Altmire,
Eau
Claire; William DeLong, Eau Claire; Wallace DeLong, Franklin;
Mrs
Doris Hetzler, Rockland; Norman DeLong and Miss Mildred DeLong,
Eau
Claire. She is also survived by two sisters and three
brothers, Mrs.
Raymond Feltenberger, Rockland; Mrs. Clinton Feltenberger,
Rocky
Grove; Morris Pryer, R. D. 2,
Franklin; Charles Pryer, Kingston, O.; Robert Pryor, Franklin
and by
17 grandchildren.
The body was taken to the home in Eau Claire.




Mrs. Guy E. DeLong
Services for Mrs. Mildred DeLong, 61, wife of Guy E. DeLong, of
Eau Claire, who died in her home Wednesday morning, following
an
extended illness, were held in the Pine Hill Church of God at
2:30 p.
m. Friday by Rev. Harry W. Slagle, Pastor. He was assisted by
Rev.
Earl Jennings, pastor of the Eau Claire Methodist church.
During the
services Mrs. Ruth Canfield played the hymn, "Whispering Hope,"
and
Rev. Slagle read the hymn, "Going Down the Valley."
A short prayer service was held at the home at 1 p. m. on
Friday.
Interment was in the Melat cemetery and the pallbearers were:
John Altmire, Donald Nelson, Charles Hetzler, Wesley Wise,
Harold
Altmire and C. L. Meals.
Those who attended the services from out of town were: Mrs.
George Wesco, Mrs. Herbert Scannell, Mrs. David Scannell, Sr.,
Mrs.
Millard Shaffer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pryer, John DeLong, Mrs.
Leona
Lawson, Mrs. Hester Larsen, and Miss Hertha Feltenberger,
Franklin;
