W. DeLong Dies At Home
Wednesday
FRANKLIN - Wallace P. DeLong, 53 of 116 Meadville Pike, died
about midnight Wednesday night of a heart attack. He was
stricken ill
at home and died before reaching the hospital.
He was born in Coal City on June 10, 1917, a son of Guy E. and
Mildred Pryer DeLong.
He was employed as a truck driver for Kraft contractors.
A World War II veteran he entered service on March 20, 1944 and
was discharged October 14, 1945, at Camp Polk, La. He was a
life
member of the Jesse G. Greer Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are two sons, Gaylord L. DeLong of Franklin RD 1 and
George DeLong of Oakmont; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sandra)
Hughes
and Mrs. Richard (Linda) Taylor both of Franklin; six
grandchildren;
two brothers, William of Emlenton, Norman, Sandy Lake; four
sisters,
Mrs. Donald (Harriet) Nelson of Kennerdell RD 1, Mrs. John
(Jessie)
Altmire of Eau Claire, Mrs. Charles (Doris) Hetzler of
Kennerdell RD 1
and Mrs. Wesley
(Mildred) Wise, Olean, N.Y.
Removal was made to the Burger Funeral Home, where the family
will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the
funeral
home. Rev. Kenneth L. McDevitt, pastor of the Baptist Temple,
Oak
Hill, will officiate.
Interment will be in Melat Cemetery.



Wallace P. DeLong
FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Wallace P. DeLong, 53 of 116
Meadville Pike, who died Wednesday evening in the Franklin
Hospital,
were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Burger Funeral Home.
Rev. Kenneth McDevitt, pastor of the Baptist Temple, Oak Hill,
officiated.
Pallbearers were: Richard Hughes, Richard Taylor, Donald Nelson
Sr., Donald Nelson Jr., and Kenneth Brown.
Interment was in Melat Cemetery in Rockland.
Graveside services were held for Mr. DeLong, who was a veteran
of
WW II. The flag was folded by Nick Deal and William Hovis.
Nick Deal
presented the flag to Gaylord DeLong.

DORIS L. HETZLER
Funeral services for Doris L. Hetzler, 72, formerly of Rockland
and Clintonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Larry
E.
McKinley Funeral Home, Clintonville.
Mrs. Hetzler died Tuesday in the Oil City Presbyterian Home,
where she had been a resident.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the
funeral
home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oil City Presbyterian
Home,

DORIS L. HETZLER
Doris L. Hetzler, 72, a resident of the Oil City Presbyterian
Home, formerly of Rockland and Clintonville and mother of an
Oil City
resident, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993, in the
Presbyterian Home following an extended illness.
Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Rockland Township, Venango County, she
was
a daughter of Guy E. and Mildred F. Pryer DeLong.
Mrs. Hetzler attended the Coal City elementary schools and
graduated in 1939 form the Rockland public schools.
She had been a telephone operator in the Rockland area in 1950
and worked as a store clerk in the Rockland area in the late
1960s.
Mrs. Hetzler had been a caregiver for the elderly in the
Emlenton
area.
She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church of
Clintonville.
She had been a former ordained elder in the Pittsville
Presbyterian
Church and taught Sunday school classes there.
Mrs. Hetzler was a member of the Busy Bee Quilters of Rockland
and also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rockland
Volunteer
Fire Department.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Mrs. Hetzler was married June 25, 1949, in the Congress Hill
Church of God to Charles D. Hetzler, who died May 27, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William L. (Jennie L.) Brumbaugh
of Oil City; one granddaughter, Rachel R. Brumbaugh of Oil
City; two
sisters, Mrs. John (Jessie E.) Altmier of Eau Claire and Mrs.
K.W.
(Mildred F.) Wise of West Clarksville, N.Y.; and several nieces
and
nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hetzler was
preceded
in death by a sister, Mrs. Donald (Harriet) Nelson of Rockland,
and
four brothers, William DeLong of Emlenton, Wallace DeLong of
Franklin,
Norman DeLong of Jackson Center and an infant.
The family will receive friends in the Larry E. McKinley
Funeral
Home, 103 Emlenton St., Clintonville, from 7 to 9 today and
from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the
funeral home. The Rev. Howard Gaston, pastor of the Union
Presbyterian Church, Clintonville, will officiate. He will be
assisted by the Rev. R. Todd Custer, pastor of the Nickleville
Presbyterian Church.
Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.
The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Oil
City Presbyterian Church, 10 Vo-tech Drive, Oil City, Pa.
