Friederick married Dorthea Sophia Schulz unknown. Dorthea was born Abt. 1797 in Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Germany.  She died 28 Mar 1860 in Neddemin, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Germany.

They had the following children:

          (There seems to be some confusion as to the name of Johan Ferderick Theodore and John Frederick Ludwig.  Are they two different persons, or the same.  The Obituary of John Frederick Ludwig says John F.L. Hasselman and the cemetery books list him as John Frederick Ludwig.  But the 1838 Baptism records  from Neddemin, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Germny has the name Johann Frederick Theodore Hasselman.)
