Franz
(Frank) Hassler was born on 22 May 1831 in Krs, Merig, Bez, Trier,
Dbsehle, Prussia. He died on 21 Jan 1900 in LaSalle, LaSalle Co., Illinois
and was buried in Granville Cemetery, Putnam Co., Illinois.

Elizabeth Kessler, daughter of [Stephan
Kessler and Anna Strack] on 19 Feb 1860 in
LaSalle, LaSalle Co., Illinois. Elizabeth was born on 11 Mar 1833 in Wohra,
Kurhessa, Germany. She emigrated from Germany when she was 25 years
old with her brother George. For 2 years she worked for Joseph Weis,
a farmer in rural Tonica, LaSalle Co.. until her marriage. After
Franz passed away, she first lived with her son Conrad and then with her
son George in the Tonica, Lostant, LaSalle Co. area. Later she returned
to live out her life with her children in the Granville, Putnam Co. area.
She died in St. Mary's Hospital, LaSalle, Illinois on 13 Aug 1915 and was
buried in Granville Cemetery, Putnam Co., Illinois. At her funeral,
one of her sisters read her obituary. She attended church school
in Wohra, Germany from the age of 7 to 14 when she was confirmed.
She had been an active member of the County Line Lutheran Church.
They had the following children:

Haszler Sr. was born on 2 Dec 1860 and died on 24 Oct 1941. + 4 F ii Elizabeth Hassler was born on 28 Jan 1862 and died on 10 Jan 1951. + 5 M iii George Hassler was born about 1862. + 6 M iv Conrad (Kearney) Hassler was born about 1864. + 7 F v Katherine Hassler was born about 1867. + 8 F vi Clara Hassler was born about 1870.
